How did you come up with the name of your new single, "Burned Out Early"?

I came up with the name because it sounded cool and I felt it fit the sound. Also, it was part of the lyrics, which is always helpful when you're trying to name a song. The EP doesn't have a name yet, but it'll probably be something we've written down that had a funny sound or meaning to us - inside joke or not.

What inspired you to write a track that is different from your usual sound?
We don't want to be a band tied to one genre or that people come to expect what our releases are going to sound like because we like all kinds of music; soul, pop, oldies, jazz, blues, even electronic. We mostly like rock n' roll and it'll still be us regardless, but we're always evolving and learning. A lot of our favorite bands have albums that delve into a lot of different genres and styles.

Which tends to come first for you, lyrics or melodies?
Definitely melodies, lyrics are usually more analyzed or adjusted.

What is currently on your playlist?
Gorillaz, The Stooges, Faine Jade/Rustics, Of Montreal, The Blank Tapes, Strokes, Killers (mostly Sam's Town, hehe)...also went and saw Beach Fossils and Allah-La's recently. M. Ward is next I believe.

How have your surroundings influenced your music?
SoCal, skate and beach culture has offered us a sense of refreshment creatively. We're inspired (more) to do it exactly how we want to do it, add in whatever to the recordings we think sound good. Our resources and growing knowledge seem unlimited so it has just provided us with a sense of creative freedom and diversity.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
We love playing shows, working on music and recording so we appreciate anyone who enjoys what we do.
